Meenakshi Gandhi :A resident of Gannor, Lecturer of Chemistry in a college at Sonipat. Associated with Umang from the very beginning. Affection towards children makes her to visit Umang frequently. Along with volunteering as a teacher she plays other responsibilities too. She is fond of writing on educational and women issues. Her poems and articles are published in different magazines.
Arpna :Founder member of NGO ‘Saahas’. Currently working with a News Channel and running ‘Saahas Learning Centre’ at Bhowapur area of Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. Saahas is working with about 100 rag picker’s children. Also working for the economical empowerment of women in the same area. Dissatisfaction over the existing method of schooling lead to search some better teaching methods and found solution at Umang. She is learning and trying to adopt alternative system of education. Umang is helping her in the same. She takes part in various programs of Umang. Also helping in translation work at Umang. She is always ready for positive changes, believes in consistent learning and hard work. Travelling is the thing she is always fond of. Also like reading, writing, watching movies, photography, playing with children and interacting with the unknown.
Virendra Saroha(Viren) : Theatre artist by profession, associated with cultural activities related to commons for last 20 years. Worked as state coordinator at Multi art Cultural centre, Kurukshetra. Also worked as a Journalist with Punjab Kesri and News 24 for about 5 years. Adept at writing songs and plays. Plays musical instruments very beautifully. He has a unique identity in theatre. Directed more than 50 plays including “Jis Lahore nai vekhya’, ‘Court Martial nahin’ and ‘Ant Hazir Ho’. Now a days working on Image Theatre, Invisible Theatre and Forum Theatre. Associated with Umang from its initial days. Played a very important role in moving Umang towards alternative system of education. Along with Umang Team he developed many songs and plays. He is carrying the responsibility of Theatre Director at Umang. Also associated with other organizations as theatre advisor.
Pankaj : A resident of Gannor, Holding a key position at Breakthrough, Sonipat for 3 years. Reading and Gazal writing are his hobbies. Due to interest in social activities he is associated with Disha trust. Accomplish various responsibilities in a skilful manner. Volunteer in various activities at Umang. Responsibility of collecting donations for Disha Trust is on his head.
Madhu : Post graduate in Hindi and M.Ed qualified teacher. Teaching Hindi in Government school last two decades. Currently placed at Government girls school Sampla(Rohtak). Engaged in various social, educational and women related issues. She is Rohtak District president of Haryana school teacher’s association. Despite of the hurdles she practice non-conventional teaching methodologies at her school too. Also do various experiments in Hindi teaching at government school. Participates in different workshops at Umang and helps in framing the study material. Also contributes in different programs of Umang.
Pooja :NET qualified in physical education. Played Hockey at National level. Has more than 15 years of experience in Education sector. Currently placed at DAV School Gannor. Runs a women social group named ‘Jagriti’ in which different activities are organised for women development. Also leading Aarogya Fitness Center at Gannor, where mental strength of women is being enhanced through Yoga and other exercise. Having a strong bond with Umang, she participates in various activities here. Plays important role in organising game related activities at Umang.
Bindu :Did Matric from a routine school and then moved to Varanasi. Completed intermediate from J Krishanmurti’s ‘Rajghat’ school, Varanasi. This school is based on alternative education system and inspire children to think in a different but creative way. These two years contributed positive impact on her personality. Currently pursuing graduation in History from Ambedkar University, Delhi. Has special inclination towards music, painting and dance. Has strong attachment with Umang. She participates in various activities of Umang. Also helps in teaching English and art at Umang.
